Every training session follows a consistent format: equipment check, route briefing, paced group departure, scheduled rest points, and a brief post-ride discussion.
Ride leaders are experienced cyclists trained in group management, first aid awareness, and Australian road rule compliance. They maintain communication throughout each session.
A well-maintained bicycle with functioning brakes, inflated tires, front and rear lights, and an approved helmet are mandatory for all group rides. We recommend carrying a spare tube, pump, and multi-tool.
Bring at least one full water bottle. Longer routes include designated refill stops.
Apply sunscreen and wear UV-protective eyewear during daytime rides.
Signal turns, maintain consistent spacing, and communicate hazards to riders behind you.
Sessions may be rescheduled during severe weather conditions including electrical storms, extreme heat advisories above 40°C, or poor air quality alerts. Participants receive notification at least four hours before departure when possible.
5:45 AM departure from York Street. 25 km harbour loop at moderate pace. Suitable for intermediate riders.
6:00 PM departure from Centennial Park. 18 km relaxed loop with cafe stop. Open to all pace groups.
7:00 AM departure, location varies. 40–60 km coastal or parkland routes. Intermediate to advanced pace.
Set a personal distance goal and track cumulative kilometres throughout the month alongside fellow community members.
Our challenges encourage consistent participation and route exploration within a recreational group setting. They are not competitive rankings and do not imply specific physical, fitness, or performance outcomes for any participant.
Quarterly events include night rides, charity awareness rides, and beginner-friendly open days at our York Street location. Details are announced via our contact channels.
Complete five unique mapped routes to earn a community recognition badge displayed on your progress profile.
Yes. Speak with your ride leader after any session if you feel your current pace group is too fast or too slow. Adjustments can be made at the start of the following week.
E-bikes are welcome on social and foundation rides. For advanced pace groups, please contact us to discuss battery range requirements for longer routes.
Missing occasional sessions is expected. Route summaries and briefing notes are shared with registered participants so you can rejoin at the next scheduled ride.
